Melissa Burden | The Detroit News Comments General Motors Co. said Monday that it has created a new Global Business Services unit to simplify its back-office functions to help improve quality and increase cost efficiencies, and has tapped a manufacturing executive with labor experience to head the unit. The Detroit News last week announced the new unit was coming. GM has named Diana Tremblay, 53, as Global Business Services vice president, effective July 1. The North America manufacturing vice president will report to GM Chief Financial Officer Dan Ammann.
